Who or what is BBK 409?
BBK (Build Better Kennington 409) is made up of local people from all walks of life
Most didn’t know each other but were all shocked by the plans for a 17-storey tower on 409 Kennington Road (home the Job Centre Plus)
So they got together and formed a group to fight the plans…
What’s wrong with a tower in Kennington?
I don’t want to see a tower in Kennington either – what can I do?
It’s too big and too tall, rising to 17 storeys - much taller than any other building in the area.
It’ll be the first of many more towers. Towers block daylight, cause wind tunnels and will change our lovely neighbourhood and the park for good.
It’ll have student housing, not much needed homes for local people.
