OPINION - PRECEDENT
This tower does not reflect the prevailing local character. According to Lambeth Policy it will therefore only be permitted if it contributes towards the intended future character of the area. Policy Q7 part ii. In other words if this tower proceeds expect more of the same.
Lambeth Plan - Policy Q7 (part ii) ‘Retains and enhances the heritage value of existing spaces… “New development will generally be supported if ii) it has bulk, scale/mass, siting, building line and orientation which adequately preserves or enhances the prevailing local character. Where the context is changing, the proposed development should also contribute towards the intended future character of the area”
